Critical Thought - Community Future Proofing - Part 1

by Scott Mathias CHHC.AADP

Part 1 - Introduction

'As the world enters into a new phase of Human existence, living dynamics are changing daily. Giving thought to this change is critical, not only to the survival of the Human but also to the veneration and support for the land which provides 'life force' for generational social existence per se'.

The FUTURE is exciting and its occuring NOW!

Think not of the BIG world but the SMALL community - where the same rules apply!

The foundation for creating change has remained the same for millennia but is best summed up by Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Itself a motivational theory in psychology consisting of a five-tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.

From the bottom of the hierarchy upwards, the needs are: physiological (food and clothing), safety (job security), love and belonging needs (friendship), esteem, and self-actualization.

For many the fundamentals of having food and shelter are being challenged but for a greater number especially here in the Waikato of New Zealand those aspects of the 'list' are comfortably addressed.

In recent years, as if responding to a 'deep call', a lot of people have 'fled town' for greener and more secure pastures. If you are one of these then I invite you to take a moment to bestow large amounts of personal congratulations upon yourself.

Some foresaw what was heading 'down the turnpike' while others are responding to the current situation and doing their best to 'return home'. Either way it takes courage to upsticks and move regions and even countries.

In New Zealand and even in the case of the Waikato's there is strong evidence of 'brain gain' across all types of diverse industry and professional quarters.  This is evidenced by the creation of world class innovation centres of excellence in Information and Food Technology, Design and Engineer and Protein Innovation in locales formally known for their quaint leafy green countenance and appearance.

The level of dynamic critical analysis and thinking is literally off-the-scale in world terms. Global best practices exist right here in the Waikato and in my observation and intuitive opinion 'you ain't seen nothing yet'.

Whilst there is a growing number of 'high flying'  IT and innovation companies in this region, New Zealand at large is forging ahead in leaps and bounds as large amounts of overseas capital attached to new immigrants enters the country.

Whilst from a purely business and commerce POV the future bodes well, what about 'the people on the ground' or MOP - members of the public - and their access to the potential benefits?

In part two I look at the potential for the development of purely social technology enabling quite a different approach to living and lifestyle per se.

I'll be diving deeper into the following areas:

1. FREE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY UNDERPINNING ENERGY NEEDS GOING FORWARD

2. DIVERSIFICATION INTO PLANT BASED PROTEIN TECHNOLOGIES

3. 3D HABITAT CREATION LESSENING THE WEIGHT OF OUR HUMAN FOOTPRINT

4. AGGREGATION OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTION

5. DEVELOPMENT OF BIO & NUTRACEUTICAL MEDICINES INCLUDING MYTOTECHNOLOGY

6. DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTROMEDICINE TECHNOLOGY

'As the world enters into a new phase of existence, living dynamics are changing daily. Giving thought to this change is critical, not only to the survival of the Human race but also to the veneration and support for the land which provides 'life force' for generational social existence per se'.
